The Negros Cultural Foundation, Inc., founded on March 28, 1987 - a non-stock, non-profit organization was conceived to awaken interest and pride amongst Negrenses, through cultural events and be a catalyst in the revitalization of the arts and other cultural activities in the region.

Since its establishment, The Negros Cultural Foundation, Inc. has successfully opened two museums in Negros Occidental: The Balay Negrense Museum and The Negros Museum. The Negros Museum continues to operate to this day, serving as a cultural hub for locals and tourists alike.

KSSLAP-LOGO

The Negros Cultural Foundation is one the recipients of the 1st KSSLAP (Kaisa Ini sa Sining, Lunsay nga Artistang Pilipino) Awards of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The KSSLAP Awards aim to give recognition to deserving Visayan individuals and/or organizations who have exemplified commendable work and services in cultural and artistic endeavors, and have been in the forefront of the research, development, preservation, education and promotion of arts and culture in Mindanao for at least ten (10) years or more.

NCCA-Plaque

The Negros Museum is one of the recipeint of the Gawad Alab ng Haraya of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

The Gawad Alab ng Haraya (Alab ng Haraya Awards) honors outstanding achievements in the performing arts, cultural conservation, arts management, library and information services program, theater production, cultural journalism and documentation, and other fields. Instituted by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, it recognizes exemplary efforts by artists, cultural workers, institutions, and foundations that have made an impact and a significant contribution to the development of culture and arts in the country. This is in accordance with the NCCA's mandate to extend recognition through awards, grants, and services to artists and cultural groups that contribute significantly to the cultural legacy of the Filipinos.
